NodeJs on mac

1. download nodejs (https://nodejs.org/download/)

2. nodejs is installed (%programfiles%\nodejs) (finder->go->go to folder-> /usr/local/bin) (From the Terminal, type “open -a Finder /usr/local/bin”) (Global node_modules and npm in /usr/local/lib/node_modules)

3. sets your user account as the owner of the /usr/local directory, so that you can just issue normal commands in there (sudo chown -R $USER /usr/local)

4. install express (npm i -g express)

5. install express application generator (npm i -g express-generator)

6. scaffold new express application (express myExpressApp)

7. install dependencies (cd myExpressApp) (npm install)

8. start express application (npm start)

9. browse to application (http://localhost:3000)

10. install Homebrew from terminal (ruby -e “$(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Homebrew/install/master/install)”)

11. install aspnet5, dnvm, mono (brew tap aspnet/dnx) (brew update) (brew install dnvm) (source dnvm.sh) (dnvm)

12. open application within VS Code

13. click Debug->config, change program to “./bin/www”
